DRESSED TO KILT 2010

Joey's press page is pleased to present some great images of this year's Dressed to Kilt catwalk show in New York.

2010's theme was "MAD for SCOTLAND", with the New York Times hailing it as "eccentric style and individuality", which we're sure you'll agree is Joey's forte!

One of the highlights of the show was rock star Joan Jett of "I Love Rock 'n Roll" fame, who looked like she really meant business. Striding down the catwalk in this fantastic Joey D creation, this outfit was a real show stopper. (Headpiece by William Chambers Millinery)

D2K 2010 triumphed once again as a great showcase for Scottish fashion talent, and the city that never sleeps welcomed Scotland's most original designers.

New York's Scotland Week 2009 has hosted another fantastic display of the best of Scottish fashion, in the company of Sir Sean and Lady Connery.

Joey's edgy urban garments were modelled by Ed Westwick, who stars as Chuck Bass in the hit TV series "Gossip Girl". Also strutting Joey's stuff was Scotland's own Leon Jackson, winner of 2007's X Factor.

Judging by these photos, a great time was had by all!

Joey D at Koldinghus in Denmark

Material Considerations - Sustainable Fashion at Koldinghus

7th May - 6th September 2009

Danish visitors to this site (and indeed, visitors to Denmark!) will be interested to know that an outfit by Joey will be on display at the Koldinghus Museum from May to September, as part of their Sustainable Fashion exhibition.

"Material Considerations" shows how modern couture like Joey D's springs from recycled items and things that many people discard as trash - the latter creating huge issues with regard to landfill and climate change amongst other things. This is an informative exhibition about sustainability in the fashion industry.

This will be the main exhibition held at Koldinghus in 2009 and it is timely, as the UN's climate change conference will be hosted by Copenhagen during the summer. The display is also in conjunction with the Crafts and Design Biennale.

DRESSED TO KILT, MARCH 30th 2009, NEW YORK

Joey's designs will once again be presented at this year's prestigious "Dressed to Kilt" show in New York.

Joey has been invited to attend and show at the prestigious fashion event on the evening of March 30th. Hosted by Sir Sean and Lady Connery, models at the show will include Scots actors Brian Cox and Tony Curran, "Ugly Betty" star Ashley Jensen and the award winning singer/songwriter Sandi Thom.

This year's theme is "The Colors of Scotland" tying in with the "Homecoming Scotland" events being held to celebrate Scottish culture and achievements here. As First Minister Alex Salmond is amongst the Honorary Chairmen, this is a very important event for fashion designers based in Scotland.

Dressed to Kilt is the highest profile showcase for Scottish fashion in the world and only attracts the most talented.

A "BIZARRE" CREATION BY JOEY-D


Joey's highly original take on fashion is featured in the December 2008 issue of "Bizarre", the magazine for dedicated followers of the outlandish and avant garde.
