DRESSED TO KILT 2011
New York's annual Dressed to Kilt catwalk show is once again about to hit The Big Apple!
The theme for this year is "Country Style". Joey's fashions will be modelled by all girl Country and Western band "Stealing Angels". Not only do the 3 girls have a huge following on the C and W circuit, they also have a huge pedigree. Tayla Lynn is the daughter of country singing legend Loretta Lynn, Jennifer Wayne the granddaughter of Hollywood screen icon John Wayne. Third member of the band Caroline Cutbirth is a descendant of historic American pioneer and explorer Daniel Boone. It all adds up to a great trio of ladies wearing Joey's clothes.
Dressed to Kilt's "Country Style" promises to be a great event, promoting all the best in design and fashion from Scotland whether it be quirky, avante garde or simply classic.

JOEY MEETS HRH PRINCE CHARLES AT EDINBURGH'S START FESTIVAL
Joey was recently honoured to meet HRH Prince Charles at the Edinburgh leg of Start, a new charity launched by the Prince to promote sustainable living and recycling.
As the Prince is very committed to this issue, he was very interested in Joey's ethos of creating high fashion from items that are too often discarded. He was also delighted to receive the gift of a bag Joey had crafted especially for the Duchess of Cornwall. Joey's thoughtful design choice of using recycled tweed fabric set off by a horseshoe alludes to the Duchess being known as a countrywoman with a great love of the outdoors.
The Start in St Andrew Square festival was a great opportunity for Joey to promote his unique brand of style, by showing his expertise in remodelling and customising old and unwanted pieces, then turning them into the quirky new items his fans love. With an audience of nearly 50,000 visitors over 3 days, we're sure his fan base has grown!
Start is a national charity and is supported in Scotland by Scottish Business in the Community. Their website offers some good ideas on how to be more environment friendly. Even making small adjustments every day can make a big difference, so why not try a few out?
